Yesterday we got back from our 4 day trip to Legoland Florida. I will say if you have kids that are into Legos, this is the place to go. There is so much to do and it’s like the legos that they build at home come to life right before their eyes.
When you go to Legoland Florida there were two Lego hotels to choose from (they do have a new Legoland Pirate hotel opening in April of 2020) or you could always stay at a local hotel down the road from the park, either way you can’t go wrong. We decided to say at the Legoland Beach Retreat for a number reasons. One being that it was cheaper and I didn’t see the need to pay more money to stay at a park hotel that was attached to the park. The Beach Retreat was perfect and I don’t feel like we missed out on anything by staying there. It’s literally across the street from the park and they have a shuttle bus that takes people to/from the park back to your hotel, or you could always drive your own car if you wanted. Disclaimer: the shuttle does not run during the main hours of the park. It runs for a few hours and opening hours and then again a few hours before closing time. One day we did walk back to the hotel since the shuttle wasn’t running, but it wasn’t a bad walk and it definitely wasn’t far.
This was our cute bungalow. Each bungalow has 2 rooms and there are 4 or 5 bungalows per bunaglow cove. Each bungalow cove has it’s own playground area for the kids. It rained off and on while we were there, so we didn’t get to play outside or enjoy the pool area. To be honest, most kids are probably tired from being at the park all day and are just ready to relax by the time they get back.
They leave Lego creator packs on the bed for the kids.
This was the kids bunk area and as you can see it also has a twin trundle, so perfect for 3 kids and a couple. Plenty of room for everyone.
The bathroom.
This was the dining area. You get a free buffet breakfast every morning. It was good, nothing great but good and it served it’s purpose. There is a coffee station that is open all day. You can eat lunch or dinner here too. There is even a play area in here for kids and there are also characters that walk around if you’re lucky you’ll see one.
The outside of the dining area. There is also a gift shop in here.
The pool area was really nice, but was closed most of time due to thunderstorms. There is also a sandy area for sand volleyball.
Just outside of the pool area for quick eats.
On our first full day we went to the actual park. There is a waterpark to enjoy too, but honestly I feel like 2 days is plenty of time to enjoy both parks.
The second day we woke up early to get in line for the waterpark. The thing about the waterpark is that you have to get their early before they reach their maximum capacity, also you’ll want to get good seats/chairs by the water so you’ll want to go early. Another tip, people run to where they want to sit, so if you have a specific spot you want to sit like by the kids area or the wave pool you’ll want to run too. They do not provide towels, so you can buy some in the gift shop if you don’t pack any. They do have life vest for kids, but those go quick too, so grab those after you grab your seats. Also, you can rent lockers for your valuables, and if you want to splurge you can rent a cabana and avoid running to get seats.
A little taco stand to eat in the waterpark area. There is also a burger place by the entrance to the waterpark. In case you were wondering, they do sell beer.
On our last day we had a later flight, so we took a detour on the way to the airport and stopped to check out the Florida Aquarium. It was small but nice.
Finally headed home, but not before we found out our flight was delayed. So, to kill time we ate at PF Changs. We had a great trip and now Mason is ready to tackle Kindergarten.
