Bye-Bye Crib

June 27, 2018

There are a lot of exciting things, and changes, happening around here. If you follow me on IG then you know that we are currently renovating our little boy’s bathroom. It sure has come with some challenges. Let’s just say that we need to call a plumber for our bathtub installation. So much for DIY! Some things just need to be left to the experts.
Another thing happening around here is Project Big Boy Bedroom. That’s what we’ll call it.
His Crib Quilt

Our little guy will be 5 this November and he’s been saying for a while that his bed is too little. I mean, he still fits in the thing. How much room does one little person need? Ha! I finally caved and decided to go ahead and transition his bedroom to a big boy bedroom.

There’s something bittersweet about changing your baby’s (or big boy) bedroom into a big boy room. It means that they are growing and changing. I mean, I blinked and this thing was happening. He’s gone from my baby in the crib to the toddler in his toddler bed, and now to this almost school-aged boy in his big boy bed.
He got this tnee tpee for his 2nd Christmas.
After moving into this house 8 months ago, we still haven’t hung up any pictures or wall decor (hence why the walls are still bare). It’s okay and has worked out perfectly because I get to start this project with a clean slate.
All of his furniture was already purchased and should be here in the next couple of weeks. He’s excited and looking forward to his new bedroom, and well that’s all that really matters. I knew that before the furniture arrived and we started moving everything out, I had to capture it as it is
ONE. LAST. TIME.
Some things like his tnee tpee and his little pottery barn chair will stay.
This little personalized Pottery Barn chair has been loved on and used. We bought this for him before he was even born.
His new decor will be some what of a nautical/coastal theme. The color scheme will be navy and white with hints of red. The entire theme came from this scripture Psalm 93:4 “Mightier than the waves of the sea is His love for you.”
If you aren’t already signed up for email notifications of new posts. Sign up to the right of this and you’ll receive an email of the Project Big Boy Room reveal.
I absolutely can not wait to share all the details with you.
And because I just want to remember this forever below are the last few photos are of his room before he was born and when we were awaiting his arrival.
(Never mind the bad photos. Obviously I’m a much better photographer now, HA!)
Stay tuned for our Project Big Boy Bedroom reveal in a few weeks.
