A Day in the Life of The Coles…

February 25, 2016

I’ve decided to add a new blog theme so uniquely titled “A Day in the Life of The Coles”, ha!. My goal is to post at least twice a month. I think that it’s a fun way to document what all we do in a single day. So often most of what is documented is planned or our sporadic weekly photos, but a day in the life keeps everything REAL and in great PERSPECTIVE! So, here we go.

Today was my usual day off, and on days off the only alarm I wake up to is Mason. Today he woke up at 7:50am. We usually lounge in “mommy’s bed” for about 30 minutes and then we get up and get our day going.

We had breakfast at 8:20am. Per Mason’s request he had pancakes.

I had an egg, toast, and some turkey bacon. Sweet tea with any meal of course! I only ended up eating my egg, one slice of toast, and one piece of bacon because Mason decided my food looked better than his 🙂

At 9:00am we finished breakfast. I started the dishwasher. I HATE to have dirty dishes in the sink!
After starting the dishwasher I had to fold and hang this awesome load of laundry. Another thing I HATE doing is the laundry. My husband washes all of it and I get to put it up. I think I got the short end of the stick!

While I put the laundry up Mason plays. Oh the life!
All folded. Don’t be fooled, I still have put all of those shirts on hangers, but it was lunch time.
Per Mason’s request he had toast for lunch! This boy is truly at the toddler diet stage, also known as picky! It’s one battle I’m not willing to fight.
I had leftovers for lunch…beef and cheese enchiladas. They were as yummy as they look too!
At 1230 we were done eating lunch and I emptied the dishwasher and re-loaded it.
I also cleaned the kitchen before getting ready to put Mason down for a nap.
Mason finally went down for a nap at 1:00pm. He is usually pretty good about laying in his bed and falling asleep on his own. While he napped I finished hanging the laundry and worked on the blog a little.
Nap time was over earlier than usual. He was up by 2:30pm. He usually naps until 3:30-4:00pm.

Daddy got of work early today so he was home by 4:00pm. He took Mason with him to check on the progress of our home and to feed the ducks in the new neighborhood. I left the house at 5:15pm to go workout.

My workout was great! It was an hour long from 5:45-6:45pm. Then I headed home to cook dinner for my husband and I.

I got home by 7:15pm, and was greeted with “mommy!”. The best sound ever! My hubby had already fed Mason his dinner. I made another Hello Fresh dinner.

Dinner was done and served by 8:00pm. Doesn’t it look just like the pic above?! Ha! Either way it was yummy, and I had enough for leftovers.

For some reason Mason wanted to eat anything and everything tonight. He asked for fruit snacks and then cookies. He got both. He brought the cookie box over and said “ta-da!”. I told him he could only have two cookies. When he was done he said, “I want two cookies”. I said “you already had two cookies”. He said “I have three cookies”. Nice try buddy. Smart, but no.

8:30pm I finally sat down to relax for a minute before getting Mason ready for bed. Relax is a word used very loosely here. Mason decides to be super whiney and keeps asking for more cookies. I suppose his short nap was catching up with him.

9:00pm and it’s 30 minutes past Mason’s usual bedtime, and this was happening. Off I went to brush Mason’s teeth and get him changed for bed.

Playing with the thermometer while I get him changed.

9:15pm and my boy is finally asleep. The sweet boy that he is has to give Daddy and Mommy a hug and a kiss before he lays down.

Now, it’s 9:50pm. I’m beat. I’m tired. I’m sweaty. My husband is asleep. I’m finishing this post up while enjoying a little me time. This momma is headed to shower and then off to bed I go. It’s always the momma that is the last one to go to sleep…why?!

I hope you enjoyed a little glimpse of our little life.
