Post-op day #8: Jeff had his second follow-up appointment on Friday. The dressing on his leg was removed again. They placed more steristrips (that can get wet) and an ace bandage (of which can be removed for showering). He was also told that he could shower now, as opposed to sponge bathing. He’s very glad that he’ll be able to feel water running down him.
The swelling has gone down significantly and the incisions are healing well. As of Friday, he could bend his knee at a 45 degree angle. As of today, he is capable of bending at at 60 degree angle. He sleeps with his CPM machine on every night and is progressing well. He’s doing physical therapy 3 times a week and does his at-home exercises twice a day on the days that he does not go to physical therapy.
Post-op day #9: On Saturday, after getting home from work, Jeff was extremely ecstatic that he was walking without crutches. It’s times like these that make you appreciate those little things in life that we take for granted.
